Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The activity takes place on a rustic hiking trail in the forest and on a bike path in agricultural and forest areas. The hike is of intermediate level with almost 100 m of altitude difference. In all, the hike is 10 km long in a linear way.
It all depends on how fast you walk and how much time you spend at rest areas. The activity could last anywhere from 3 to 5 hours. Participants are free to do the hike at their own pace, with or without a guide.
You should wear sneakers or closed walking shoes, and bring a bottle of water. You should also be adequately dressed (hat, backpack, etc.). Water supply points will be available during the hike. A guide from Sentiers de l’Estrie, trained in first aid and equipped with a kit, will accompany each departure. You can also bring a bit of cash if you want to buy products at the end of the hike at the Marché champêtre.
Since the hike is quite long and because of the level of difficulty, we do not recommend children under 12.
There is available parking at Isabelle Brasseur park as well as at the community centre (430, rue Principale, Kingsbury). When you get there, go to the registration table to confirm your presence. It is recommended to arrive 30 minutes before your departure time.
A shuttle service will be waiting for you at the Marché champêtre in Melbourne to take you back to your car once you are finished eating.
The event will take place rain or shine, so make sure to have a raincoat and appropriate footwear. Under extreme conditions the event will be held at a later date. Information will be available as of 8am on the day of the activity on our website, as well as on the website of Sentiers de l’Estrie, and on our Facebook pages.
